Joe writes most of the songs, but sometimes we all do some collaborating. The more we play together the easier it is to write songs together improvising style. We’re no jam band, but were getting there.

Carina moved to Boston and Phil moved to Western Mass, keeping the balance of two in the country and two in the city. It’s a lot of work to be in a band, when you’re in a band that’s not making any cash- that’s most bands. We all have to work and balance schedules, and living 2 hours from each other makes for even more planning. On top of that we each have several children. Not really, but we do all have separate loves… graphic design, illustrating, eating, painting, writing, producing, marriage, single life, cookies ect.

Felwood deadwood gnolls for grinding and quests from the sanctuary in the south. Blasted landswow powerleveling dreadmauls for grinding. Un'goro crater (best started at 50) for primarily quests and grinding off the plants and tar elementals. Azshara undead highbornes and thunderhead hyppogriffs for grinding

Judges Comments:
You certainly have a nice collection of images and some real gems in the mix. There are more "emotional toil" photos in this essay than I expected. Capitalize on that because it elevates this above similar essays that have the feel of "My friends are in a band and they let me hang out." This essay definitely doesn't feel finished to me. There's more story to tell. Perhaps that's why you had trouble editing it down. Keep working on it and my feeling is that your story "thread" will come together.

Judges Comments:
Jongchul, 43 images in almost any essay is far far too many. There are some exceptional and beautiful frames within this body of work but they are watered down by the excess. You allow yourself to take risks with certain images (such as frame 2) that really excel and give a feeling, but others (like #4) don’t seem to be all there. This is a personal story, one you have great access to and time is on your side. Keep making images and pushing the envelope visually, but keep in mind that your final product is only as strong as the weakest image. The saying I always try to keep in mind when editing is, “Edit until it hurts. Then cut one more.”

Panos, I agree with you that my edit is not tight enough and I heard that from other people as well.
One thing I believe about documentary photography (I might be wrong) is it's all about helping people's understanding about the subject. Actually when I finished editing first time, I had 10 images and I used them for my class final and my website portfolio. I tried to choose only visually interesting and strong images. Several month later I noticed that even I can't understand anything about the band from 10 images. I wanted to show not only band member's practice and show but also struggling and what they do in their daily life as an art student, or a person who does not related to music to make a living. As we know about indi band, their music and performance don't pay their bills. That's what I wanted to show and share with other people. Again, I might be wrong because I wanted to say too many things with one project which can cause boring loose edited photo collection. Still I am trying to find the way to tell many things I don't want to miss with tightly edited photos.

I was just playing around in Soundslides with these photos and they really work with music, it makes you,.. "feel" them much more ... its much more together with music.

How can we hear the music behind this? I want to hear it and "feel" it

ok... hello everyone...
lets all try to learn from each other and lets have some fun...
First i will visit everybody's essay for a quick hi and a quick comment...
then i will go try to go back, revisit everyone and "dig deeper"...
ok... firstly, out of the bat . tighter edit needed here... for example , too many "guitar photos"
that pretty much add nothing... one "guitar" photo would be enough...
Question to the photog:..How long have you been working on this essay ?
because i see the "attachment" here with the band which is a great thing,
but attachment with ones photos creates repetition...again we need tighter edit here...
