Born in 1982 on an equestrian farm in Pennsylvania, Schultz’s interest in photography emerged while studying at Bard College in New York. A student of literature and art, Schultz quickly found his place amongst a gang of aspiring photographers, not as a fellow picture-taker, but as an ally and a critic. For the last year and a half he has worked in conjunction with a photographer on a large-scale project making portraits of contemporary Chinese artists. Schultz is currently based in New York City.
